Deubbert Brags He Can Pass a Monthly Drug Test to Prove He’s More Fit to Judge Than Baricevic

Judge Deubbert has the cojones to call a spade a spade. He tells Baricevic that he can pass a monthly drug test, has already published his results and challenges him to make drug testing of all judges mandatory. Deubbert cites Baricevic’s refusal to drug test his court’s judges after the drug scandal as a reason to mistrust Baricevic.  How ironic that judges have to brag about not being high on drugs while on the bench. It reminds us of the Chris Rock joke about how certain low class folks of his race want credit for things they should be doing anyway and would brag, saying… “I ain’t never been to jail…you’re not supposed to go to jail, low-expectation-having-mother-f***er!”

Deubbert’s campaign pitch is below:

When I began collecting petition signatures to run for election as your circuit judge, I made several promises to myself and to the People of our 20th Judicial Circuit. To the best of my abilities– I promised to restore your trust in your courts. I promised to restore your belief in getting real justice from your courts. I promised to improve your view of lawyers and judges. I promised to demonstrate my integrity to you. And I promised to prove to you that I am drug-free.
So that no question will exist in the People’s Mind about where my integrity lies, and about how serious I am about removing the taint of illegal drugs from our courthouse, I submitted to my own drug test on June 27, 2016, and the result are published here. And I will take a new drug test every month until the election and publish the results on my website. As your circuit judge, I will continue to take drug tests to ensure that I am drug-free. Seriously, if drug testing is required of many local employees, judges should not be exempt from testing.
After all, it has been well over three years since the St. Clair Courthouse Drug Scandal rocked our community and caused the local legal profession and judiciary to be viewed through the unfavorable lens of drug addiction and abuse. It is time for wholesale change.
