The family court team includes the judges hearing domestic relations, juvenile and probate cases. The team is committed to improving procedures for the public within the framework of the law. I work to propel families who are in crisis to reasonably resolve their issues while focusing on the children's best interests, only imposing my view when there is an impasse.
Our Keys to Success program provides resources for young people who are extracting themselves from drug addiction. Our MIP (minor in possession of alcohol/ marijuana possession) court is designed to motivate young people to avoid these gateway drugs. I try to foster a courtroom which is respectful and concerned, but realistic and honest. Service to the people of Washington County has been a great honor for which I am very appreciative.
Judge Raines and his wife share five children and two grandchildren.
